The Wayne County Juvenile Probation Department is an arm of the Juvenile Court. The department is responsible for the investigation and supervision of juvenile offenders who are alleged to have committed, or who have committed, felony or misdemeanor offenses prior to a juvenile’s 18th birthday.
The department’s mission is guided by Pennsylvania’s Juvenile Justice Philosophy, Balanced and Restorative Justice. Three principles are equally incorporated into its philosophy; Community Protection, Accountability, and Competency Development. In adhering to the balance of these principles, each juvenile offender is assessed individually to determine their level of risk and needs.
