Adult Probation/Parole
Mission Statement
The mission of the Wayne County Adult Probation/Parole Department is for the Probation/Parole Officers to meet the requirements of the PBPP job description guidelines and continue with professional enhancement training so they may enforce the Orders of the Court of Common Pleas with professionalism and zeal.
The Wayne County Probation/Parole Department will utilize their knowledge of the law, individual personality traits and community dynamics to provide to the community, a sense of safety in that those offenders who are being supervised are being done so with the best of the officers’ abilities and with the collective resources of the department.
Staff of the Wayne County Probation/Parole Department shall treat each offender with respect and without prejudice in order to effectuate a meaningful working relationship, enhance the likelihood of a successful period of supervision, and perhaps, achieve an element of rehabilitation.
Court of Common Pleas
The Adult Probation/Parole Department is the investigative and supervisory arm of the Court of Common Pleas. Probation/Parole officers supervise offenders within the community, file investigations as required and make arrests and detain offenders when necessary. The office is located on the 3rd floor of the Dimmick Building adjacent to the Wayne County Courthouse, Honesdale, Pennsylvania.
Court Functions & Responsibilities
- Supervision of adult offenders placed on probation or released from county prison.
- Conduct pre-sentence investigations, pre-parole investigations and other pertinent investigations as ordered by the Court.
- Manage and supervise electronic monitoring and community service programs.
- Responsible for the collection of Court imposed costs, fines, restitution and fees.
