This group provide support and resources for the LGBTQ Community with an eight-week curriculum for adults, age 18 and older.
Sessions focus on identifying and discussing coping skills; building a community of trust and connectedness; sharing strength, hope and experiences; family involvement and support; peer support; and community resources.
The group is facilitated by Samantha Burkhardt, LPC, and Kirsten Havira, LPC.

Travis Akins, Founder and CEO, will showcase the highly innovative Growth Through Opportunity (GTO) Cadets training program and the unique methodology behind achieving high employment rates for adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Travis will outline the extreme importance of mutually enhancing safety while building acceptance and long-lasting relationships among law enforcement and persons with I/DD.
Upon completion of the webinar, participants will:
• Understand challenges that law enforcement and people with intellectual disabilities face in making positive and long-term connections with one another and how these challenges can lead to needless use of force incidents.
• Understand and describe practical tips and strategies on how to address criminal justice and disability issues in your own community.

The eight-week program will also provide free nicotine replacement therapy—patches, gum, lozenges – for one month to participants. It’s presented by the PA Area Health Education Center and Wayne Memorial’s Community Relations Department with funding from the American Lung Association. The clinic will also examine medications that can increase your success, lifestyle changes to make quitting easier, how to prepare for your “quit day,” coping strategies for managing stress and avoiding weight gain and how to stay smoke-free for good.
