  2. End-of-Life Care Symposium

    Lehigh Valley Health Network, in partnership with Pediatric Palliative Care Coalition, presents this conference for nurses, social workers, licensed professional counselors and physicians. Participants will gain knowledge and skills when caring for patients with a complex illness and/or navigating end-of-life care. Specific focus is aimed at improving pain and symptom management assessments and interventions inclusive of physical, emotional and spiritual care. Participants also will increase their knowledge and comfort when communicating difficult news or when navigating the goals of care with patients and their loved ones. This program additionally focuses on needs of children impacted either directly by complex illness or a life-threatening illness. Program participants will also gain knowledge at improving the communication skills needed when working with children who have experienced a significant loss.
