This is an accelerated, eight-day Course taking place in one month instead of our traditional Course which spans three months. Take note to the dates to the left of this email and your availability to complete the Course requirements in the allotted period of time.
The Course is for new employment professionals who have been on the job under one year, or can serve as a comprehensive refresher for others who have a responsibility of finding and supporting employment for individuals with disabilities.

In three sessions, learn beginning and intermediate skills on the Glowforge Laser cutting machine. Work on your own project, hands on with one-on- one instruction. Class Size: Limited to 8, minimum of 3, registration is required.
Instructor Lisa Glover is a designer with a background in Engineering, Architecture and Fine Art. She has run 3 successful Kickstarter campaigns, created STEAM curricula for several summer camps, and is now helping millions of kids become makers through her work at Highlights for Children. Her passion is merging technology with craft to design creations that inspire kids of all ages.

Participants will learn how solar works and how much it costs, find out if their roof is well positioned to generate solar electricity, witness an on-site demonstration and get hands-on practice. Solar orders may also be placed, for those who are interested.
As a bonus, this year's workshop will include an actual solar installation at Lacawac Sanctuary. Attendees may participate June 23 (rain date June 24) for further training.
Presenters include North American Board of Energy Practitioners Certified Installer Blair Buselli of Buselli Solutions of Beach Lake and Jack Barnett, president of the Clean Energ Co-op, past chapter chair of the American Solar Society and consultant.

Every year the United States Department of Agriculture awards grants (up to $100,000 per successful applicant) to small business owners, who link with researchers to test solutions to rural community problems through their Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. This free workshop will introduce participants to the SBIR, determine the “fit” between the problem you have identified and a grant project, and (unique to this grant awareness program) launch follow-on coaching to support you as you build your grant proposal. In addition to production agriculture-related innovations, successful projects are those resulting in new scientific information to improve overall quality of life in rural communities.
