  2. Canaltown Moving Movie Festival

    May 19, 2018, All Day @ Multiple Downtown Venues

    The inaugural Canaltown Moving Movie Festival will take place at multiple, Main Street theater venues (Here & Now Brewing, Loose Leaf Pages, and Re/Max Wayne). Each location will have a venue-specific set of movies. These sets will replay at each location so festival-goers can see every movie, while choosing their own festival adventure. Attendees will receive tickets to vote for venue favorites and an overall, festival winner. An awards ceremony will take place at Basin and Main at the end of the night. A dance party will follow in the same location. Festival passes will grant access to everything. Short format movies will be shown, each being 15 minutes or less. Selected shorts are independently produced and were created anywhere within the geographic range of Honesdale/Wayne County (deep local) and planet Earth (international).

  3. Native Plants Walk

    Join Delaware Highlands Conservancy staff and partners for an educational hike at the Milford Experimental Forest, a 1,191-acre privately owned property. Participants will be guided through various forest types including a deer exclosure and demonstration chestnut planting. Native and invasive plant species will be identified and discussed. The hike will traverse moderately steep terrain. Space is limited and prior registration is required.

  4. Walk for Epilepsy

    Join the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania and individuals living with epilepsy, their family and friends for annual Walk for Epilepsy around PNC Field. You can sign up as an individual, captain a team, join an existing team or become an event sponsor. Walk for yourself, for a loved one or for the one in 26 people who will development epilepsy in their lifetime.

  5. Wayne County Safety Fair for Kids

    May 19, 2018, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Park Street Complex

    The seventh annual Wayne County Safety Fair for Kids teaches youngsters a variety of important lessons about safety, with plenty of fun mixed in a well. There will bike helmets given away along with gun locks, smoke alarms, toothbrushes and more. PA State Troopers will be on hand to conduct child safety seat checks, a limited number of replacement seats will be available while supplies last.
